Tiny Devotional for Tuesday, 08-29-2023

A great good morning to all my friends and neighbors in Internet Land! And to family members who have dropped by, it’s actually spelled ‘scuppernongs, not ‘scupnins.’

Men of bloodshed hate the blameless,
But the upright are concerned for his life.

Proverbs 29:10, NASB

Blameless: תָּם; (tām). Perfect, complete, wholesome.

Upright: יָשָׁר  ( yāšār). Righteous, correct, straight.

Why in the world would men of bloodshed (hereafter: MOB) hate the blameless, those who are perfect and complete (hereafter: BPC)? They have, BY DEFINITION, done nothing wrong. What’s the problem with that? How is it that the MOB are even aware of the blameless, perfect and complete?

If the MOB just stayed in their lane, they would never have reason to interact with the BPC, and there would be no problem. Sadly, it seems that the MOB can’t conduct their business without some degree of outside help.

The BPC won’t cooperate.

When a MOB asks them to hold these packages until tomorrow, the BPC politely decline. When asked to give false testimony, the BPC tell the truth, and the MOB seethe in anger.

The BPC simply WILL NOT cooperate with the MOB. It’s a dangerous position to take! The MOB will not hesitate to use force, and the BPC can’t be on watch 24/7.

I don’t want to push this TOO far, but:

the BPC aren’t the only good guys.

In this fallen world, there are some folks who need a punch in the snoot, and the peace-loving BPC don’t punch.

That appears to be the task of the upright, the righteous, correct, straight ones (hereafter: RCS).

Whether we realize it or not, we WANT the RCS to defend us; otherwise, the use of force is entirely the domain of the MOB. That’s a BAD outcome.

Peace be on your household.
