A great good morning to all my friends and neighbors in Internet Land! And to family members who have dropped by, did you ever find that ice cream recipe?

For her house sinks down to death
And her tracks lead to the dead;
Proverbs 2:18, NASB

This section is a part of the warning the young man receives concerning hanging out with the wrong woman.

If you know me, you know I don’t do horror. Never have; never will. It scares me too bad. I blame most of it on Walt Disney’s movie with the banshee.
Even though I don’t have a lot of knowledge about what makes horror movies (and books) super creepy, I’m going to say that a scene using this verse as the model is going to qualify.

Just look at it: the house sinks down (some versions say inclines) to death. So, you’re on this dirt road in the late afternoon, and the trees are hanging over the road. Then, you see the house of the wicked woman; her lot slopes down, and there’s fog moving in.
And as you get closer, you see footprints in the dirt, leading from the front door, and going down to the conveniently-located graveyard…

Honey, let me tell you this ONE thing:

I AIN’T GOING IN THAT HOUSE!

You don’t HAVE to be a horror fan to recognize this is a setup! Even if you actively avoid it (as I do) you’ve seen enough movie trailers, or ads for beer at Halloween, or even creepy book covers to know that A Bad Thing will happen if you go in there.

So don’t. DON’T!

There is a time for fearless courage. This ain’t it.

RUN. Don’t walk, RUN away from the wicked woman!

Peace be on your household.
